Learning can be fun and does not always have to be in the classroom. It can be magical and exciting especially if done outdoors.This could be in a wood, on a beach, a moor or really in any natural setting.

We at North Pennines Outdoor Learning (NPOL) want all children (and adults!) to achieve and develop confidence and self-esteem, through hands-on learning experiences all year round, in all weathers. This is why we set up NPOL so children can have fun in the forest, go wild in the woods, bound about the beach yet still learn creatively and safely in a natural environment. Learning through nature is never dull!

The beauty of this is it can be easily tied in to both formal education through the Early Years Foundation Stage and key stages 1 and 2 of the national curriculum or it can be used just to have fun at special events.

We at NPOL want to be as flexible as possible so will work with you to get what you need for your children. You can come to one of our outdoor sites or we can bring the outdoors to you! All of our session leaders are fully insured and qualified Forest School Practioners. They are trained in outdoor first aid and hold current enhanced CRB checks.
